Quick answer: Build CLAT 2027 preparation in three phases: foundation (reading, legal basics, logic), practice (sectional tests and weekly mocks) and revision (two mocks a week plus current-affairs revision). Read daily, review every mock, and keep the last six weeks only for revision.

Phase 1 — Foundation (months 1–4)

  • English: read one editorial daily and summarise it in five lines.
  • Legal reasoning: learn the principle–fact method and basic concepts of contract, tort, criminal and constitutional law.
  • Logical reasoning: practise arguments, assumptions and inferences.
  • Current affairs: keep a monthly notebook of national, international and legal news.
  • Quant: revise percentages, ratios, averages and data interpretation.

Phase 2 — Practice (months 5–8)

  • Take sectional tests twice a week.
  • Start a full mock every week and spend twice as long reviewing it as you spent writing it.
  • Maintain an error log: wrong concept, misread passage or time pressure.

Phase 3 — Revision (months 9–12)

  • Two full mocks every week.
  • Revise the current-affairs notebook monthly.
  • Focus on accuracy: CLAT has negative marking, so skip low-confidence questions.
