Choose the correct entrance route
After Class 12, consult the five-year BA/B.Com LL.B. information on PU's undergraduate law portal. Graduates should consult the three-year LL.B. information on PU's postgraduate law portal. Read the current prospectus before setting a timer or applying marking rules; do not substitute a generic CLAT paper.
Record a useful baseline
Make a simple table with section, attempts, correct answers, errors, unanswered questions and minutes used. If negative marking applies to your current paper, calculate the score using that prospectus, not a guessed penalty.
Sort mistakes into four groups
- Knowledge gap: you did not know the legal concept, GK fact or word meaning.
- Reading error: you missed an exception, qualifier or key fact.
- Time problem: you understood the question but took too long.
- Unsupported guess: you answered without a defensible reason.
Turn the review into your next week
Choose two weak topics for daily revision. Add a short timed question set, check the answers and explain why each incorrect option fails. Retest the same skill at the end of the week with different questions. Review legal aptitude, current affairs, English and reasoning according to your chosen PU syllabus.
Bring evidence to a demo class
Bring the marked paper and error table. Ask the teacher to explain one legal question and one recurring error. Discuss how classes, mock reviews and doubt sessions will address those specific gaps rather than asking for a promised rank.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which paper should I use for a PU Law diagnostic test?
Use a previous-year paper for your chosen PU entrance route: the five-year integrated law test or the three-year LL.B. test. Confirm the current pattern on the relevant official PU portal.
What should I record after the diagnostic test?
Record attempted questions, correct answers, mistakes, time spent by section and questions left unread. Separate knowledge gaps from reading errors and unsupported guesses.
Does one diagnostic score predict admission?
No. It is a starting point for preparation, not an admission prediction or a guaranteed selection score.
