The year in three phases
Phase 1 — School year
Ninety minutes daily: thirty minutes newspaper, thirty minutes legal aptitude or reasoning, thirty minutes general knowledge. One sectional test a week.
Phase 2 — Board month
Protect boards. Keep only twenty minutes of newspaper reading and one short test a week. The goal is to avoid restarting from zero later.
Phase 3 — After boards
Six to eight hours daily for the remaining weeks: full mocks twice a week, review the same day, revision of notes built during the year.
Why the small daily habit matters
Reading speed and test temperament decay quickly. A candidate who read daily through the year and one who stopped for four months are not in the same position, even with the same syllabus coverage.
Overlaps to exploit
Board subjects like political science, economics and English feed directly into entrance general knowledge, comprehension and current affairs. Make notes once and use them for both.
Common failure
Attempting full six-hour entrance days during board preparation, burning out, and abandoning both. Consistency at a low level is safer than intensity that cannot be sustained.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I prepare for a law entrance during Class 12?
Yes. Keep a short daily entrance routine of sixty to ninety minutes through the school year, and shift to intensive entrance preparation after the board exams.
Should I stop entrance preparation before boards?
Do not stop completely. Reduce it to daily reading and one weekly test so the habit and speed survive the board period.
Do board marks matter for law admission?
Some admission processes consider qualifying-examination marks. Check the official prospectus of the university you are applying to.
When should full mock tests start?
Sectional tests can run through the year; full mocks are best concentrated after boards unless you already have a strong base.
